Northgate station park 'n' ride business case
The department has completed planning which investigated expansion of parking facilities at Northgate station in response to high demand for parking in the local area.
Northgate station is a key location for customers accessing the public transport network and experiences high demand for commuter parking.
The department undertook community consultation on a proposed upgrade to replace an existing carpark on Ridge Street and Holland Street with a multi-storey parking facility to provide additional capacity.
The business case is now finalised and no value-for-money options could be identified due to the significant capital costs involved to construct a multi-storey parking facility. While there are no further plans for park 'n' ride expansion at this location at this time, the department will continue planning for improved multi-modal access options to improve access to train services for the local Northgate catchment.

Planning for this project was fully funded by the Queensland Government under the Transport System Planning Program.
